A genomic library, also clone bank or gene bank, is a collection of DNA from a single organism, ideally though not necessarily containing its entire genomic DNA sequence. The DNA from the source organism of interest is divided into multiple fragments and packaged within cloning vectors such that each carries a portion of it.
